Dubai Tourism, welcomed in Bucharest

Dubai Tourism, welcomed in Bucharest

Few days ago I have had the honour to present the Dinner Gala on the occasion of the opening of the Dubai Corporation Tourism Commerce and Marketing repesentation office in Romania. Practically, the Government of Dubai decided to open an office of Dubai Tourism in Bucharest and they have chosen the Travel Advance agency to represent them here.

I think it’s a wise decision and an important step in the process of growing the number of tourists from Romania.

Dubai Tourism is an official government organisation in charge of promoting Dubai as a global tourism destination and a centre of business and commerce.  Beside marketing Dubai in the world, it is also responsible for issuing licences, grading hotels and other tourism services.

I spent a very interesting evening, experiencing the original Arabic coffee, a spectacular Sand Art live show and discovered the technique of the Henna tradition.

I was honoured to meet on this occasion Ms Dana Nabeel Abdulla Kamber , the Strategic Alliances Manager of Dubai Tourism and I learned from her that Dubai is on track to meet the mission of attracting 20 millions of visitors by the year 2020, when will also host the World Expo.

Each year, Dubai continues to evolve, by adding new attractions, so you can be sure that no two trips to Dubai will ever be the same. Dubai is still holding a lot of world records… the world’s largest shopping mall, the world’s tallest building (Burj Khalifa 828 m, 160 floors), the highest swimming pool, the highest restaurant, the world’s tallest hotel (Marriott Marquis) etc etc

Even if I’ve been there for several times, (I think 18 or 19), I still can’t wait to go back as I still miss a lot of things to do… See the penguins at the SkiDubai, stroll on the new Jumeirah Corniche, dive from a plane above The Palm or spend a day in a perfect attraction for the families, the IMG Worlds of Adventure, the world’s largest indoor theme park.

As now Romanian citizens do not need to obtain a visa to go to Dubai, and as we have direct flights from Bucharest to Dubai with flydubai, which is not a low cost and flies also in Business Class, I think this destination will be one of the most requested in 2017…
